Our members express their creativity in a variety of ways, including: making greeting cards and calendars in the Art Club, exhibiting visual art in the Narthex Gallery, designing and caring for our Memorial Garden, and maintaining the Strickler Peace Garden.
Trained volunteers in our Caregiving Ministry provide a helpful and compassionate presence for those in our congregation who request support. Find out how to request a caregiver or to become a trained caregiver.
Our congregation seeks to serve the wider community in a variety of ways. Find out more about how each one of us can get involved:
- from cooking and serving meals at a homeless shelter to feeding and housing homeless families in our church,
- from marching to end hunger to marching for equality,
- from organizing support to families and nonprofits to organizing communities,
- from feeding the hungry in our community to helping build houses in our community.
Christian Education at Urbandale United Church of Christ is a spirit-filled adventure for all ages, from Children & Youth to Adult.
Meets monthly for potluck and fellowship with the purpose of supporting each other as a faith community, as we learn about the environment and are propelled into action. Check the Call and Sunday bulletin for activities and announcements. Join the UUCC Green Boat facebook group!
Music is an important part of our worship and life together as a congregation. Our church offers a variety of musical opportunities to children & youth (SOS Choir, Youth Handbells), and adults (Adult Choir, The Raggedy Band, Adult Handbells). We also offer occasional concerts as part of our Casual Concerts Series.
Our church offers several groups for members wanting to focus on special interests or meet others in a more informal setting. We have groups around art, books, food, community, prayer, knitting, spirituality, and more—or you can start your own!

We provide nursery and childcare, educational opportunities including confirmation, music, youth groups and activities, camping, and more. Our safety policy guides our trained volunteer teachers and childcare providers in making our church a safe place for children.
