Cool Congregations Challenge Application
Green Boat applied for the Energy Saver category of this challenge, sponsored by the national nonprofit, Interfaith Power & Light (IPL) which solicits applications each year about what is being done for climate change. (See http://www.coolcongregations.org/take-the-challenge/what-is-ccc/ )

The Green Boat group sponsors a proposal to install solar panels on the church roof
The installation of solar panels on the church is a bold, visionary response to our commitment to reduce impacts of climate change.

In January 2017 we became the first church in Iowa to join the Paris Pledge developed by Interfaith Power and Light to encourage congregations to take action to meet the Paris climate change conference goal to limit global warming.
