We are an Open and Affirming congregation that welcomes persons of every age, race, gender identity and expression, nationality, ability, and sexual orientation. We are a Just Peace church that seeks to empower ourselves, our children, and one another to be fully present in the world, living in Christ’s image and striving for justice and peace. We are a member of the United Church of Christ, a distinct and diverse community of Christians that come together as one church, joining faith and action. LEARN MORE.

LGBTQ Health Survey

LGBTQ Health Survey

One Iowa, the University of Iowa College of Public Health, and the Iowa Cancer Consortium have partnered to learn more about LGBTQ health in Iowa. If you are an LGBTQ Iowan over the age of 18, please take the anonymous online health survey (will take 10-15 minutes to complete) and share it with other eligible LGBTQ Iowans. If you’re not an LGBTQ adult living in Iowa, please share this survey with your friends, family, and community members who are eligible.

Click here to access the survey and help One Iowa learn more about the health of LGBTQ Iowans.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Paul Gilbert, Assistant Professor in Community and Behavioral Health at the University of Iowa College of Public Health by phone (319-384-1478) or email (paul-gilbert@uiowa.edu).

One Iowa will also be conducting focus groups later this year to have direct conversations with LGBTQ Iowans about their health. These focus groups will be held in different areas of the state. If you’re interested in participating, please email info@oneiowa.org or call at 515-288-4019.

Pastor Dave’s Pondering: Our 25th Anniversary

A voice told him, “Get up, Peter! Kill and eat!” Peter exclaimed, “Absolutely not, Lord! I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.” The voice spoke a second time, “Never consider unclean what God has made pure.” (Acts 10:13-15, The Common English Bible) The...
